Char Dham Yatra from Haridwar is a 10-day, 9-night trip from Haridwar covering Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath, priced from ₹26,900 per person plus 5% GST.
Char Dham Yatra from Haridwar is a 10-day, 9-night pilgrimage covering Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath, the four sacred dhams in the Indian Himalayas. Starting from Haridwar, this journey takes you through the beautiful Garhwal mountains, sacred rivers, traditional temples, and scenic Himalayan valleys.
Our chardham yatra tour packages are designed to help pilgrims plan their journey with suitable accommodation, transportation, and a well-organized itinerary. The programme includes an overnight stay at Kedarnath Ji and planned buffer time around the Kedarnath and Badrinath sectors to help manage possible weather or travel delays.
Whether you prefer trekking or wish to explore the helicopter option for Kedarnath, you can discuss the available arrangements with the CareMyTrip team before booking.
Our Char Dham Yatra from Haridwar is a 10-day, 9-night trip covering Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath. We haven't packed the days too tightly. Some are long drives, some are easy, and there's a spare night after Kedarnath in case the weather plays up. If you're comparing a few Char Dham tour operators, check each day's route and night stop below before you decide.
We pick you up in Haridwar or Dehradun, depending on your package, and head to Barkot. If Mussoorie traffic isn't bad, we'll stop briefly at Kempty Falls. In May and June, roads around Mussoorie get jammed so that the driver may take another route. Expect to reach Barkot by evening, check in, have dinner and get an early night.
We leave early and drive past Hanuman Chatti and Phool Chatti to Janki Chatti. From there, walk about 5 km to Yamunotri Temple, the shrine of Goddess Yamuna. Ponies and palkis are there if you'd rather not walk. After darshan, most people take a dip at Tapt Kund, see Surya Kund and pray at Divya Shila, if time and conditions allow. Then it's back down to Janki Chatti and the drive to Barkot for dinner.
Your legs will thank you for this one. It's a short drive to Uttarkashi after the Yamunotri walk. If we get in early enough, visit the old Kashi Vishwanath Temple in town. Otherwise, rest and get ready for Gangotri.
We set off early for Gangotri, the temple of Goddess Ganga. No trek today; the car goes right up to the town. After darshan, you can sit by the river at Gangotri Ghat for a while. On the way back, we can stop at Harsil, Mukhba, and the hot springs at Gangnani if time allows.
Be ready for a long day in the car. We leave right after breakfast because this drive often takes 9 hours or more with traffic and roadworks. Keep snacks and water handy. When we reach Guptkashi or Sitapur, eat early and sleep, since the Kedarnath day starts before sunrise.
Kedarnath day. If you're walking, we drop you at Sonprayag very early; you take the shared jeep to Gaurikund, and the 16 to 17 km climb starts there. Most people take 6 to 8 hours. Stay up at Kedarnath tonight so you can do darshan without rushing and catch the evening aarti. Don't want to walk? Ponies, palkis and pithus are available at an extra cost. You can also fly by helicopter if tickets are available and the weather is clear. Helicopter tickets aren't included in the package price unless we've confirmed them to you in writing.
Do an early darshan if you can; the queue is shorter. Then walk down to Gaurikund and Sonprayag, where the car will take you back to the hotel. We keep this night free on purpose. If rain, a sick day or a helicopter delay holds you up at Kedarnath, the rest of the trip doesn't fall apart. Got time to spare? We can add Triyuginarayan, Chopta or Ukhimath for an extra charge.
Another long drive, but a pretty one. The road goes via Ukhimath and Chopta, then past Joshimath, depending on which roads are open. We stop for the night at Govindghat or Pipalkoti so the Badrinath leg isn't one exhausting stretch. Extra sightseeing on this day costs extra and depends on your itinerary.
Start at Badrinath Temple, the Vishnu shrine on the Alaknanda River. Most pilgrims bathe at Tapt Kund first; it's hot spring water, so don't worry about the cold. After darshan, we drive 3 km to Mana, the village people call the last one before the Tibet border. If time and weather allow, you can see Vyas Gufa, Ganesh Gufa, and Brahma Kapal. Then it's back to the hotel.
Time to head back. The drive down follows the rivers past Karnaprayag, Rudraprayag and Devprayag. At Devprayag, look out for the spot where two rivers of different colours join and become the Ganga. If we're running on time, you can stop at Laxman Jhula and Ram Jhula in Rishikesh. We drop you at Haridwar station or Dehradun airport, depending on your booking. Please note: timings, overnight stops, and sightseeing may change due to weather, traffic, road closures, government guidelines, or safety needs.
Two Char Dham yatra tour packages can look the same in price and be very different once you're on the road. Check this list carefully, especially hotels, meals, the car and what you get at Kedarnath.
Your hotels depend on the category you pick, your dates, how many of you are travelling and what's free that week. CareMyTrip has four levels: Standard, Deluxe, Luxury and Premium. Below are the Standard options. Ask us which hotels you'll actually get before you pay, so there are no surprises.

Planning a Char Dham Yatra from Haridwar? Please read the payment and cancellation terms below before you confirm. Comparing these terms across operators tells you far more than comparing prices alone.
Before you book your Char Dham Yatra from Haridwar, sort out a few basics. Find out when the temples open that year and do the compulsory yatra registration. Keep an eye on the weather and road updates closer to your date. And whichever Char Dham yatra tour package you pick, write down every extra cost.
The trip starts in Haridwar or Dehradun, as per your booking. Coming from Delhi? We can pick you up and drop you back for an extra charge. We can also book a hotel for the night before you leave if you're arriving late.
Every pilgrim's Char Dham looks a little different. Some have two weeks and love the road. Others have five days and a parent who can't sit in a car for nine hours. Start with where you're coming from and how much time you have, and the right package usually picks itself.
| Package | Duration | Starting price | Who it suits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Char Dham from Haridwar | 9N / 10D | ₹26,900 | Pilgrims who enjoy the road journey |
| Char Dham from Delhi | 11N / 12D | ₹32,300 | Travellers who want to be picked up and dropped in Delhi |
| Char Dham by helicopter | 5N / 6D | On request | Those with little time, or who want to skip the long drives |
| Do Dham from Haridwar | 5N / 6D | ₹17,900 | Pilgrims going to Kedarnath and Badrinath only |
GST is extra, and prices may change. The package page always has the current rate and full inclusions.
Before you book with anyone, ask four questions. Which hotels exactly? Which car? What isn't included? What happens if I cancel? An operator who answers all four clearly, in writing, is usually one you can trust.
Deluxe is the category most people end up choosing. The rooms are comfortable without the price climbing too high. Whichever category you book, though, your night at Kedarnath will be in a basic dormitory. Nothing fancier exists up there.
Your group size decides the car. Two to four people travel in a Swift Dzire, six in an Innova Crysta, and larger groups in a Tempo Traveller. The per-person cost depends on the car, the number of travellers, your hotel category and the dates you go.
The temples open in late April or May and shut for winter around October or November. Priests fix the dates each year by the Hindu calendar, so they move slightly from one season to the next.
May and June bring the best weather and the biggest crowds. September and early October are a hidden gem. The rain has cleared, the views are sharp and the queues are shorter. July and August are the monsoon. Landslides and road blocks are a real risk then, so only go if your dates are flexible.
Check the official opening dates, registration rules and weather before you finalise anything.
If you're looking for the best tour operator for the Char Dham yatra, judge every company on the same things. Is the pricing honest? Are the hotels as described? Is the car reliable? Does someone pick up the phone when a road closes? We're happy to be measured on all of it, so put our Char Dham yatra tour packages next to anyone else's and compare.
Our itinerary takes you to all four dhams with hotels, meals and transport sorted. We also keep an extra night free around Kedarnath, because that's where the weather tends to throw plans off.
Before you pay, go through the final inclusions, hotel category, group price, payment dates and cancellation rules. No surprises later.
