Char Dham Yatra from Delhi
11N / 12D Starts from Delhi By road
Char Dham Yatra from Indore: no direct Dehradun flight, so the ex-Delhi itinerary from ₹32,300 per person is usually shorter. Routes, days and costs.
Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath, joined to a departure from Indore. The yatra itself starts in Uttarakhand, so what changes from one city to the next is how you reach the start and how many days to set aside either side of it.
By air. Indore has no non-stop service to Dehradun, so that routing connects. Indore to Delhi is direct and takes a little over an hour and a half.
By rail. Indore to Haridwar by rail runs to around a day, with direct services, which makes the train a real alternative to a connecting flight here.
With no direct Dehradun flight, the ex-Delhi itinerary is usually the better buy from Indore — a short direct hop to Delhi, then the transfer day the programme already includes.
| Train | From | Runs | Leaves | Reaches Haridwar |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 14309 Ujjaini Express | Lakshmibai Nagar (LMNR) | Wed, Thu | 15:25 | 16:20 next day (about 25 h) |
| 14317 Lakshmibai Nagar–Yog Nagari Rishikesh Express | Lakshmibai Nagar (LMNR) | Sat, Sun | 15:25 | 16:20 next day (about 25 h) |
Both leave from Lakshmibai Nagar (LMNR), not Indore Junction, and stop at Ujjain on the way. Timings as Indian Railways listed them in October 2026; confirm on NTES or IRCTC before you book.
There is no non-stop flight from Indore to Dehradun at present. Fly to Delhi and join the Delhi start, or connect on to Dehradun.
About 950 to 1,050 km, two long days of driving. Not recommended before a mountain yatra.
Rates are per person, vary with hotel grade and group size, and exclude 5% GST. Flights and trains from your city are booked separately.
No. That routing connects, usually through Delhi. The Delhi leg itself is direct, which is why the ex-Delhi itinerary often works out shorter from here.
Delhi, in most cases. With no non-stop Dehradun service, flying direct to Delhi and taking the 11 nights and 12 days ex-Delhi programme avoids a connection and builds the transfer into the itinerary.
About thirteen days: the ex-Delhi itinerary is 11 nights and 12 days, plus the flight at each end. The helicopter circuit out of Dehradun is the fastest option at 5 nights and 6 days.
The yatra costs from ₹26,900 per person on the Haridwar itinerary (9N / 10D) or from ₹32,300 per person on the Delhi itinerary (11N / 12D), excluding 5% GST. The trains reach Haridwar at 16:20, so add a hotel night in Haridwar before the start. With no non-stop flight, flying means a connection or the longer, higher-priced Delhi start.
May to June, or September to October; July and August are monsoon months, with landslides and road closures. Yamunotri and Gangotri open on 9 May 2027, and the Kedarnath and Badrinath dates are announced in spring. The Ujjaini Express runs only on Wednesday and Thursday and the 14317 on Saturday and Sunday, so fix your start day around them and book 60 days ahead, when bookings open.
Two trains from Lakshmibai Nagar (LMNR), not Indore Junction: the 14309 Ujjaini Express on Wednesday and Thursday, and the 14317 on Saturday and Sunday. Both leave at 15:25, stop at Ujjain and reach Haridwar at 16:20 the next day. Confirm timings on NTES or IRCTC.
