What is the weather like in Nelong Valley?
Cold and dry. Summer days are mild in the sun while nights drop close to freezing, and winter snow closes the road. Carry warm layers whenever you go.
When can I visit Nelong Valley?
Usually from about May to October, when the road is open. Check the latest status before travelling, as early snow can close it.
Do I need a permit for Nelong Valley?
Yes. Nelong is near the border, so visits need permission from the Uttarkashi district administration. We arrange the permit as part of the trip.
