Why Ujjain's Kumbh is in 2028, not 2027

Planning for Ujjain in April and May
- Heat: Malwa afternoons in April and May can touch 42°C. Bathe early, rest through midday and ask for AC or a cooler and power backup where you stay.
- Stay close to your ghat: a stay near Ram Ghat or the Mahakaleshwar side cuts down walking on Shahi Snan days.
- Book early: rooms near the ghats fill months ahead; plan 3 to 4 months out, earlier for the Shahi Snan dates, and reach a day before any big snan.
- Elders and children: keep to the less crowded days between the Shahi Snans when you can.
